ITU Multisport World Championships update on Coronavirus

In the light of the rapid spread worldwide of the COVID-19, the Executive Board of the ITU has decided to suspend all activities until the 30th April. It’s very hard, even impossible, to predict anything for a period longer than a few weeks at this moment and we will do our utmost to maintain our event calendar. The ITU Multisport World Championships takes place in September and therefore it’s way too early to think how the situation could be. For now: let’s focus on staying strong and healthy and apply the advices of the official authorities.

As we all know, the COVID-19 virus has taken over daily news and our daily life. A lot of our fellow athletes are in quarantine, family members are out of reach, work has to be done from a distance and worst of all, people are getting sick. Of course our ITU Multisport World Championships team is in constant contact with the governmental institutions about the evolving process and the decisions that are being taken worldwide by governments and health organizations. Of course we are following all the regulations that are being laid down and act accordingly.

Thanks so much for all your trust in these difficult times and for the massive support you have shown to our team already. If you have questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us. And of course: we hope to see you in Almere!

Best regards on behalf of the team,

Richard Belderok
Race Director ITU Multisport World Championships
